My photographs are the result of endless searching for those moments in time when color, composition, and light all magically come together. With virtually every photograph I shoot on location, I rely only on available light and exposure manipulation. My Saltwater photographs are a perfect example of that striving to capture not only an exciting image but also the mysterious transparent complexity of the ocean, saturated by the extremes of sunlight. That being said, if I had to pick a location that offered the greatest number of visual options, Hawaii’s big island would certainly be a top contender. With 11 out of 13 of the world’s climate zones located on this one remote slice of paradise, the only disadvantage here is the sheer size of the ground that needs to be explored.
For six weeks I traveled around this incredibly large island, alternating my shooting days between the stark, moonscapes of lava in Volcanos National Park and the endless variety of pristine shoreline locations. I also made the decision to shoot not only with traditional equipment but with a specially modified infrared camera. If you’re in the market for a mesmerizing, photographic print that will make you feel as though you were standing next to me when I captured it, my latest collection, Saltwater Too is for you. To see one of my large-scale prints in person is very impressive, and that’s simply because every aspect from creation to reproduction is meticulously controlled by me. I deliver museum quality photographic art to the highest-level interior design firms, individual homeowners, and corporations. Custom sizes and numerous presentation options are available to meet any specifications requested by you or your designer. Tell me what you want to see, and I’ll make it happen.” - George Diebold |
